Your end users converse with the Virtual Agent through the Knowledge Portal. The Knowledge Portal is a chat-like user interface that lets people describe a problem or ask a question in natural language. The Virtual Agent then uses artificial intelligence to deliver an accurate solution; specifically, it uses a rule-based expert system to deliver solutions and guide users in the conversation.

In general, expert systems work well in narrow but deep domains of knowledge, such as date about a specific product with complex branches of information to diagnose problems. noHold DynamicDialog engine is different because it's built around a diagnostic knowledge tree with forward and backward chaining algorithms that work well in any narrow or wide knowledge domain.

 When users describe a problem, and depending on the level of details provided, DynamicDialog forward and backward chaining algorithms allow the Virtual Agent to traverse the diagnostic tree down and up and ask users the most relevant questions for the level of details provided. Then the Virtual Agent uses the inferential engine to deduct a specific solution from the collected information.
